Who knew Diane breaking her toe could be so fun, I didn't. Well once you break your toe new windows of opportunities are opened up to you. This weekend DD and i went to Costco (Costco is kind of a big deal, it is kind of like Disney Land for people like me... people who like to eat, people who like free samples, its the best!) Well we began our adventure by getting DD onto the motorized scooter because of her toe. She looked awesome, the way her hair would blow by as she wheeled by the diapers and cheese, she looked amazing. I kind of felt like a celebrity being with her, everyone kept looking, it was awesome! Then we headed to Target, we decided to get these little motorized scooter again because it was just so charming before. We found one plugged into the wall and thought it would be good to take it around Target. Well this thing was supper slow, for some reason it did not occur to us to thing it might be dying. Everyone was walking past DD, at one point DD let me join her. You have no idea how happy this made me! For years I have watched commercials of older people on there scooters and they always have talked about how happy it makes them and how they are able to get around. I have always secretly envied them. Call me lazy but I wanted one really really really bad. So this was my golden opportunity to share the seat with DD and ride side by side with her down the isles of the glorious Target, all the sudden I felt a sense of happiness overwhelm me, my dream had been granted. As we went along I realized these things were not as glamorous as they had seemed on TV, in actuality it was much more difficult to fit into little areas, it was also awkward when everyone was walking past us. We had to turn around a lot and use the reverse because we kept getting stuck and when we would do that it would make a loud beeping noise and it felt like everyone in the whole store would look at us, talk about awkward, plus a little girl ran into us with her cart with a baby inside. To top it off we were strolling down the makeup isle and the scooter died, we had to finish our journey on foot, walking. Wow I guess the motor scooter was not all I had wished it would be, but it still sure was fun! I am glad DD was able to share her perks of being crippled with me.
Thanks Diane!!!
P.S. hope your toe feels better
